"COMPAS": A Perfect Beat for You


BB 163 Davao – Bantay Bata 163 Davao, in cooperation with Adventurista Productions, highlights a memorable night of flamenco music and dance on another fund – raising event. “COMPAS” features two international performers working together to stage and teach flamenco music and dances. Adolfo Timuat, a Filipino guitarist who became a professor at the American Institute of Guitar has performed all over Europe, Scandinavian countries, as far as Turkey, Israel, Middle East countries and around Asia. On the other hand, Tatyana Balashova, a Russian – Scottish dancer has performed in most parts of Europe. Timuat and Balashova also taught at the University of the Philippines, Manila and performed throughout the country.

Aside from their remarkable performances, Timuat and Balashova entertained their audience through a slight workshop on flamenco dances and how to perform its various styles.

Timuat and Balashova said that they are happy to be able to help abused children and support other programs and services that Bantay Bata 163 has been giving to the children of Mindanao for almost a decade now.

Apart from flamenco music and dances, a group of arts and development workers in Mindanao, dubbed as the “Mebuyan Peace Project” also made Davaoeños more proud through their inspiring acoustic tone.
